This year, we decided to do it again, as you can see in the above picture (from left to right, Holder Schröder, Christoph Baldegger, Gilbert Vergères, Martin Janser, Philipp Hämmerli).
We were lucky like last time, because the weather was just gorgeous, and we enjoyed wonderful scenic views. And it was actually not very hot during the day – ideal for fishing.
New team members Philipp Hämmerli and Holger Schröder (pictured above) joined the company in the first quarter of 2018 and as a Board Member in late 2017, respecively.
We walked along the river Seez im Weisstannental, in the region known as #Heidiland. During our two-day stay, we were very lucky. Everyone caught some trout, and the catch of the day was 37 cm long. In total we caught ten fish.
That’s what these pictures should communicate to you, it was simply gorgeous out there… and we had a great time!
Obviously, we are #VERLIEBTindieSCHWEIZ #inLOVEwithSWITZERLAND
Everybody was out looking for the ideal spot to fish (see above). Of course, we had enough time to enjoy the surroundings as well, as a few wild animals, including deer, crossed our path.
By the way, Team-building.
Incidentally, we went to the Weisstannenthal to do some team building. In our case, we wanted the “oldies” to get to know our new team members a bit better. But the idea was also to spend some time together again.
These moments are important because we often work alone or in teams of two when we visit aquaculture sites around the globe. Rarely, if ever, are all of us in the office. So, this weekend was a great exercise.
Without using flip charts or powerpoint slides, our intention was to network amongst ourselves. And we wanted to make sure that our team will continue to excel. For this, our “fish workshop” was an excellent opportunity that we were happy to take advantage of.

1. Have you ever been trout fishing? How was it?
2. Have you been on a team exercise like this one with your company? What do you remember?
3. Where is your favourite fishing spot?
Whilst you read this, our team members are attending the fifth Our Ocean Conference in Bali on 29 and 30 October 2018. This conference is focused on generating commitments and taking action to maintain the sustainability of our oceans.
We got invited to attend in part because of our work as experts with the European Commission and BlueInvest.
